Bio.

At the closing reception of the exhibit, “Dap is a Love Language,” January 2023. Anacostia Arts Center.

Growing up in Washington, DC, a city of brilliant Black culture and political flourishing as well as significant racial and economic inequality deeply influenced Rhonda’s perspective and informed her professional passions.

She is the co-creator of the Dap Project, a multi-media platform that explores Black culture and politics through oral and visual storytelling. Rhonda launched this venture out of a deep desire to create something personal, and meaningful to The Culture.

Prior to embracing creative entrepreneurship, Rhonda enjoyed a career addressing educational inequity as a high school history teacher, a professional development provider for teachers, school administrator, and most recently as a client services manager for a national non-profit. These experiences sharpened her ear for storytelling, and built her confidence to pursue her unique creative passions.

Rhonda earned an MBA from the University of Virginia, an EdM from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a BA from Columbia University.

She is most proud of earning her high school diploma from Benjamin Banneker Academic High School, a DC Public School.

Rhonda loves reading (and participates in multiple book clubs), hiking with Black hiking communities, and playing with her very active nieces and nephews.
